The 1920s saw the rise of sophisticated day and evening wear with matching accessories. Thus the lining of this Chanel coat is made of the same fabric as the dress. Delicate muslin cutouts in the shape of jagged leaves stand out in relief. This ensemble belonged to Anna Gould (1875–1961).
