Paul Poiret, dessin et broderies de l'atelier Martine
This bonnet was made from a design by the Atelier Martine in April 1911, the year when this decorative arts school for girls was founded. The school was named after Paul Poiret's younger sister and Poiret often had his embroiderers copy its designs. These big, stylised flowers – mainly roses and daisies – are very typical of the school's output.
