Balenciaga by Demna Gvasalia
Of Georgian origin, Demna Gvasalia studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp before joining the Maison Martin Margiela, then Louis Vuitton. From 2014 to 2019, her brand "Vêtements" will make her famous. His transgressive fashion shows, like his fashion, attracted the attention of the Kering group, which in 2016 offered him the artistic direction of the House of Balenciaga.
Transgressive, this silhouette adds a parka, a heavy winter jacket, to an evening outfit made up of black drill trousers, a clutch bag and heavily embroidered satin pumps.
This simple stylistic game should not, however, make us forget the skilful cut of the parka, tilted backwards, in homage to the way Cristobal Balenciaga himself worked his profiles and the skilful balance of his models from the end of the 1950s.
