Céline by Phoebe Philo
This silhouette of Phoebe Philo's ultimate collection for Celine, named Artistic Director in 2009, is representative of the artistic director's creative contribution to the French brand, transforming its bourgeois image with an offbeat classicism. The simple and sophisticated appearance of the shirt and loose tobacco linen pants is enhanced by a double trench coat, the top one, sand-coloured, rolled up on the bottom one, tobacco-coloured. This inventiveness of cutting, inspired as well by the archives of Jean Paul Gaultier as those of Martin Margiela, is one of the signatures of the British designer.
