Azzedine Alaïa
"The most diverse jerseys were of all my creations - says Azzedine Alaïa in 2013. Stretch knitwear is for me a natural derivative of couture jersey. Rather than stick to its elasticity that naturally follows the body, I wanted to use it as a fabric to cut and model around the silhouette.
A masterpiece of construction, this long dress from the winter of 1988 is one of the couturier's best-known models. The deep black jersey with subtle moiré, specially made for Alaïa by its manufacturer Milès, is emblematic of her savoir-faire, as is the cut of her skirt, made in a single strip of fabric shaping the hips and legs and finished in a small sled. He will be one of the models immortalized by Peter Lindberg in his series Le Touquet (1988), worn by Tatiana Patitz.
