After the clothes in paper patterns of the previous season (autumn-winter 1997-98), Martin Margiela decided to create only flat clothes.

These "minimal" jeans have lost all their characteristics: the belt has been removed, pockets, loops and labels have been untied, leaving shadows in their places.

They are renewed from spring-summer 1998 to the autumn-winter 1999-2000 collection".
