Martin Margiela
The Fall-Winter 2005-06 collection was presented at 163 Saint-Maur Street during an open house day at the new Maison Martin Margiela headquarters.
This is the last time that the models from the "artisan" collection will be presented alongside the other lines. Indeed, from January 2006, for the spring-summer collection, the "artisanal" line will be included in the calendar of haute couture presentations. She will now have her own collection, presented in a showroom every season.
The "artisanal" collection, initiated in Martin Margiela's second collection (autumn-winter 1989-90), is made from clothing or recovered objects transformed into clothing or accessories.
This necklace is made from chandelier pendants collected at the Flea Market. It took three hours to make each of the nine copies produced.
