This top hat was specially designed by famous Paris milliner Caroline Reboux for the actress Arletty, who is seen wearing it in the closing scene of Roger Richebé's Madame Sans-Gêne (1941). After the film's release this type of headgear appeared more and more frequently in women's magazines and the top hat became fashionable again.
