Jean Paul Gaultier has a particular affection for the back. In 1983, he was the first designer to propose a naked back for men, whereas this area is a symbol of eroticism in women. From then on, his creative gaze would never stop focusing on the back of the body.
In this dress, Gaultier mixes stylistic vocabularies: he combines his taste for the trench coat strapped to the draped bare back that he concludes with a tripartite train, creating a new kind of imprint on the ground.
