‘100 MPH’ travelling coat, Dornac

In the wake of the First World War, Roaring Twenties fashion reflected a frenetic decade's craze for movement, speed, modernity and emancipation. Now women could experience the dizzying thrill of driving their own cars. The title of this coat reflects this new lifestyle. The wide sleeves made movement easy, while the cut of the armholes harks back to the visite, part cape, part coat and very popular in the late 19th century.
