The first issue was published in September 1918, entitled "La mode par Fried" and, as of issue number 2, became known as "La mode dessinée par Fried". This periodical's ephemeral life came to a close with No. 8 from April-May 1919. Most of the coloured model plates were imagined by the illustrator who gave his name to the magazine. Issue number 3 from November 1918 heralded a future partnership as Lelong's models were published. This couture house did indeed collaborate with Fried as of 1920 when the company name was changed to "Lelong & Fried".
