Museum storerooms are pretty much like the attics of our old family homes. They're full of hidden treasures. Every museum has its own special mystery; revealing it opens the doors to its history, the history of its collections and how the museum is run. This new special edition, imagined by Paris Musées and the studio LACME, invites you to enjoy a close-up of the masterpieces sleeping peacefully in the museums of the City of Light.
In this episode, Sophie Grossiord, General Curator and Head of collections from the beginning of the 20th century to 1947, Thierry Fripier, Head of Mannequin Modelling, Anastasia Ozoline, Textile Restorer, and Alexandre Samson, Curator of the Haute Couture and Contemporary Creation Departments invite you on a trip behind the scenes of the storerooms of the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris (Paris Museum of Fashion).
They talk about the care given to displaying and restoring the works they watch over on a daily basis. They highlight the works of great haute couture designers who have passed away as well as those of young socially-conscious contemporary designers.
