About Michel Gaubert
Michel Gaubert is a sound designer & director for the world's most prestigious fashion shows.
He was born in France in the 60s and began his career in the 80s: he travelled the world looking for records for Givaudan, then Champs Disques, landmarks in the vinyl scene in Paris. He went on to become a DJ in the Palace nightclub, then, in the 90s, started composing soundtracks for a host of fashion shows in Paris.
With a track record of some thirty shows a year around the globe, Michel Gaubert has worked with some of the top fashion houses: Jil Sander, Sacai, Céline as well as Valentino... He is particularly well-known for his long-standing partnership with Karl Lagerfeld, who entrusted him with the sound design for his collections at Chanel and Fendi. At the same time, Michel Gaubert has also created compilations for the Colette concept-store hand-in-hand with his friend Alexandre de Betak.
