Love Brings Love exhibition teaser

The Palais Galliera celebrates Alber Elbaz through a new type of exhibition that reproduces the fashion show paying tribute to the fashion designer held on 5 October 2021 at the Carreau du Temple in Paris. After Alber Elbaz's death, AZ Factory, which he had recently founded, called on some of his former close partners and organized a fashion show in his honour. This show brought together some 46 designers who were all invited to create a silhouette inspired by Alber Elbaz and his work: flowing gowns with long trains, short dresses enhanced with ruffles or big bows, dresses printed with the designer's sketches or his portrait. These designers, a blend of well-known or emerging talents, at the head of historic fashion houses or running their own brands, offered a glimpse into the world of fashion design, its questions and current-day challenges: the environment, diversity, gender, etc. The Palais Galliera wished to pay tribute to Alber Elbaz by organizing an exhibition that reproduces the fashion show and invites visitors to immerse themselves in this ephemeral atmosphere by recreating the running order, the effects, music and lights that made this evening gala a historic event. The title "Love Brings Love" (in French, L’amour appelle l’amour) reiterates an expression that Alber Elbaz adored as a mantra. As a reaction to the isolation caused by the health crisis, this exhibition centre stages the community of designers gathered to celebrate the memory of one of their most brilliant representatives, the incredibly-charismatic Alber Elbaz.
