For the first time in forty years, the Palais Galliera devotes an exhibition exclusively to an accessory, the hat, elevated to a work of art. The tour centre stages Stephen Jones' creative process, the sources of inspiration behind his creations and the role Paris plays in his work.
The exhibition, boasting some 400 items, including over 170 hats, the milliner's archives and forty or so full silhouettes dressed in clothes and hats. These looks show the bonds Stephen Jones has forged with the most prestigious couture houses, in particular Christian Dior, with which he has worked for almost 30 years. Dior, a can't-do-without on the Parisian fashion scene, was behind the creativity and boldness of the most Frenchy British milliner ever.
