Martin Margiela
Spring-Summer 1998 collection is inspired by the paper patterns of the previous season, and Martin Margiela has decided to create only flat clothing.
These "Patterns: pieces of a pattern are assembled into foldable clothes. ", a jacket and pants, are cut from suede crust and suspended by a pattern hook. The front of the jacket can be folded inside, which becomes an open jacket. It was very difficult to make flat pants that were comfortable to wear, especially on the fork; all the seams are visible. These clothes, folded in half, look like real paper patterns, totally flat. The metal hook is worn on the side, like a jewel.
